Lately I’ve been feeling this great sense of urgency and it’s really annoying because I just want to chill but something is constantly pestering me. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but it’s as though I need to hurry up and get things done. What things? Well there’s a combination of things… lol but ultimately it’s something telling me it’s time to stop slacking (even though I don’t like to admit I have been) and get the ball rolling.
Writing has always been so therapeutic for me and it’s something I’ve always been able to do with so much ease. If one of the only things, I feel I can do well. However, life happens and it somewhat hasn’t been much of a priority to me which I can admit isn’t very good. So my first step in changing this is to set aside just 30 minutes twice a week to just simple write. I have no idea what I’m going to really write about or what I intend to share though I do hope me sharing my thoughts can encourage someone to do the same and get back into something you may have been “slacking” on.
Okay so now that my explanation Is out of the way I think for now I just wanted to touch on time management and how effective planning can really help to make life a little easier. It can also help with creating a great sense of clarity. I think sometimes as we get older it’s occasionally a little harder to priorities tasks and responsibilities and somewhere along the line there’s an area that’s been left blank.
(That’s the best way I can think to phase it and this point in time. Forgive me lol)
With that being said there is a way to keep track of our time and priorities which has helped me greatly which is just simply writing everything down. Once everything is on paper and I mean everything. There’s no reason why everything can’t be done (obviously not all at once) but breaking things down into months, weeks, days even by hour can help in creating an awareness of where time is going and if what we are doing is truly necessary.
If the things we are doing don’t align with are goals and plans, then that’s a clear indication we are going off track. It’s help me greatly as now when I do things I’m doing them because I know it will contribute to the larger picture of my goals rather than wasting time making unnecessary tasks a priority. Try it and see how it work for you. Write down what you want to priorities and focus your week or month around those two or three tasks.
Also another thing that has helped me gain more clarity and focus is monitoring the amount of time I spend on social media. This can honestly be a HUGE time killer. So I try to limit it to just weekends or just one hour a day.
